The Ukrainian Association for Management Development and Business Education (UAMDBE) announces the Sixth Annual International Conference on “Building Business Management Education”, organized and implemented in cooperation with the Consortium for Enhancement of Ukrainian Management Education (CEUME).

The main topic for discussion is “Ukrainian Management and Business Education in Global Competitive Environment.” Will the Ukrainian economy be able to successfully integrate into European and international environment? What are the roles and responsibilities for business and management education during these times? What must administrators of educational institutions do in order to overcome key challenges? What are new structure and quality requirements of education within the international competitive environment? Are Ukrainian higher educational institutions ready to meet these new requirements and standards? How can they better prepare?

The increased importance of addressing these questions within conditions of Ukraine’s joining the Bologna Process, entering World Trade Organization, and becoming the immediate neighbor of European Union, contributed to the dedication of the Conference to the following topics:

  • UAMDBE Independent Accreditation System - Improving quality in pursuit of accreditation
  • Mobility of professors and students – Benefits of Exchanging ideas and experiences
  • Management education in Ukraine and the Bologna process – How alignment with European education is essential to quality improvement
  • Establishment of system for research and monitoring of business environment – Practical research and contributions to business growth
  • Contemporary technologies of managing educational institutions – Change Leadership
  • Competitiveness of MBA programs in Ukrainian educational institutions – Competition leading to quality
Conference organizers invite everyone who wishes to participate in the conference and to submit materials for discussion (report drafts, articles, notes, etc.) on the listed topics.

Deadline for submitting papers: 18:00 October 20, 2004
Deadline for sending registration forms: 18:00 November 1, 2004

The Conference is supported by sponsors, CEUME, educational institutions, businesses and the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) through the “Business Management Education in Ukraine” project.

Deadline for submitting materials for discussion (reports, articles, announcements) is 18:00 October 20, 2004 Organizational committee will review and evaluate the materials and recommend the papers to be presented at the conference. The following criteria will be applied:

  • Materials correspond to the focus of the conference;
  • Importance, structure and logic of the report in accordance with the topic of the presented material;
  • Content, argument, new and practical value of proposed conclusions;
  • Accepted style of presenting materials in Ukrainian or English language;
  • Recommendations and proposals for managers of higher educational institutions, representatives of business community and government for achieving desired changes.
  • IMPORTANT: Each paper should conclude with a listing of proposals or recommended actions.
  • Presented materials should be from five to ten pages by content, prepared in Ukrainian or English language.
Organizers ask authors, presenting the reports, to use laser printer, Times New Roman 12, one interval. Reports to be sent on the address:

Obligatory is to send materials by e-mail as an attachment to the letter in RTF format to the address: conference@uamdbe.org.ua

Deadline for sending registration forms is November, 1.

Financial conditions for participation:

Registration fee is paid for participation in the conference and covers the costs of printing materials, rent of equipment, meals during the conference, buffet dinner, translation services.

Registration fee does not cover accommodation costs and breakfasts.
- Registration fee is 600 UAH (hrivnyas)

Each second and following representative, registered for participation at the conference from one organization receive 10% discount off the sum of total registration fee.
After registration process for the conference is over, each participant receives the notice or bill to be paid.

Withdrawal from participation:

It is important to inform organizers of the conference about withdrawal from participation. While notice of withdrawal is set forth, 90% of the sum paid is returned. In case of withdrawal later than 14 days before the conference, registration fee is not reimbursed.
